Albany, NY – Lake effect snow, gusty winds, and plunging temperatures are gripping much of eastern New York and western New England through Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Albany.

Forecasters report wind gusts between 25 and 40 mph across most of the Capital Region today, with Berkshire and Litchfield counties under Wind Advisories for stronger gusts reaching 45 to 50 mph.
