Colonie police arrest 4 for alleged burglary spree

COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Colonie Police Department arrested four people accused of a string of burglaries that began in November. Police said the four were arrested in connection with commercial burglaries at SportsClips, Royal Smoke Shop, Corner Deli, Bare Blends, and Fix Wellness & Beauty.

Authorities arrested Mack Murray, 30, of Albany, and Alyssa M. Eaton, 31, of Albany, on December 9 before arresting Miguel A. Rodriguez, 37, of Troy, and Heather D. Wilcox, 37, on December 10. Police said the suspects allegedly smashed out a front window or glass door and stole from local businesses overnight. Police reported the burglary suspects allegedly stole cash registers and merchandise from the stores.

  • Third-degree criminal mischief
  • Petit larceny

Miguel A. Rodriguez, 37, of Troy

  • Two counts of third-degree burglary (Bare Blends, Fix Wellness & Beauty)
  • Two counts of third-degree criminal mischief
  • Fourth-degree grand larceny
  • Petit larceny

Heather D. Wilcox, 37, homeless

  • Two counts of third-degree burglary (Bare Blends, Fix Wellness & Beauty)
  • Two counts of third-degree criminal mischief
  • Fourth-degree grand larceny
  • Petit larceny

“The Colonie Police Department has identified and arrested suspects in every one of these crimes, which have shaken our business community,” a release from the Colonie Police Department said. It is important to note that this area wide spike in burglaries was the result of the actions of a small group of people, who have all been arrested thanks to the tireless efforts of the Colonie Police Investigative Division with support from our partners.”

Police reported that additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues. Anyone with information or surveillance video of the commercial burglaries is encouraged to call Colonie Police Department investigators at (518) 783-2754.

Law enforcement stated that Rodriguez was also charged with second-degree burglary, third-degree robbery, and fourth-degree criminal mischief from another incident unrelated to the commercial burglaries. Although arrests have been made, police said there are additional open investigations that may or may not involve Murray, Eaton, Rodriguez, and Wilcox in other areas of the Capital Region.

Murray was released under probation supervision with electronic monitoring after his arrest, and Eaton was released without conditions. Rodriguez remains in Albany County Jail awaiting a preliminary hearing, and Wilcox was released after posting bail…
