ALBANY — A 16-year-old will serve 12 years in custody for killing 21-year-old Quadair Hoffler earlier this year in a botched drug robbery, according to the Albany County District Attorney’s office.
Prosecutors said the teen, who was 15 at the time and another then-15-year-old, bought marijuana from Hoffler on Feb. 10 and then summoned him a short time later to buy more. The teens allegedly planned to rob him during the second meeting.
The teen who was sentenced Friday flashed a gun at Hoffler, who was from Rensselaer, and ordered him out of his vehicle. Hoffler sped away, and the teen fired off several shots, hitting Hoffler in the head with one of the shots…
