Security footage from Bare Blends captured a man stealing more than $2,000 from the register. It happened just after 5 a.m. and no one knew until an hour later. “Our opener came to the store and saw the glass shattered, saw that property had been defaced,” said Ann-Marie Berdar, a cofounder of Bare Blends. “They called me immediately.”
Next door, Fix Wellness and Beauty captured a woman breaking in, unable to open the register. The owners said the same suspect from Bare Blends joined her, stole the cash drawer with a few hundred dollars and a purse to carry it all in.
“Shattered glass everywhere. We weren’t even allowed in,” recalled Anna Kintz a partner at Fix. “There were eight police vehicles. Town of Colonie were definitely on it, on top of it very quickly.”
