CAPITAL REGION, N.Y. (NEWS10)– The recent school shooting at Brown University devastated the community in Rhode Island, and beyond. Tonight NEWS10’s Payton Cavanaugh spoke with two students from the Capital Region who are both still in Providence. They said facing this traumatic event has opened their eyes to a grim reality.
Anna Brown is a biomedical engineering student from Niskayuna. On Saturday, she was working on a project in a lab when gunshots started to ring out in the same building.
“I remember hearing like five to ten popping sounds,” said Brown. “It sounded like gunshots. We didn’t really know what it was.”
