Tarachand Chunilall, 53, was found guilty of attempted rape and endangering the welfare of a child following a two-day trial in Schenectacy County Court on Wednesday, Dec. 10, the DA’s office announced a week later.
Chunilall was in the Schenectady area for a “religious home sale celebration” in November 2024 when he and some friends stopped by the house of the victim, who was under the age of 17, and her family, prosecutors said. The group gathered in the basement listening to music and dancing.
