ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A new sports bar and grill celebrated its grand opening in Albany on Wednesday. The Boulevard is located at 125 Southern Boulevard.

The 1,260-square-foot restaurant takes over the former space of Sam’s Italian American Restaurant, which closed in 2021 after five decades in business. The Boulevard was founded by restaurateur Cheri West, who had owned the barge restaurant Riverfront Bar & Grill, as well as Park View Pub, before both closed in 2017.
“Returning to the restaurant community has been incredibly energizing, and I’m grateful for the warm welcome we’ve received,” West said.
The Boulevard boasts several renovations, including new outside benches, an awning and signage installation. In an effort to honor the space’s history, some original elements from Sam’s also remain.

The restaurant’s menu is described as “an American grill with a taste of Italy.” It features original Sam’s classics — such as “Clams a la Sam’s” — and items from West’s former eateries, as well as burgers, salads, wings and more…
