1 arrested following alleged knife fight, stabbing in Troy

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — One person has been hospitalized following an alleged knife fight and stabbing in Troy on Saturday, according to the Troy Police Department. The incident reportedly occurred on the 700-block of 2nd Avenue.

Police were called to the scene at about 9 p.m. for a reported disturbance. A preliminary investigation found that an adult male suspect was in an apartment with the caller and other adults. Authorities said all people involved were known to one another.

The suspect allegedly started a disturbance, grabbed a knife and began to threaten the others. Another man in the apartment also grabbed a knife to defend the others and the two fought, police said.

During the fight, the suspect was reportedly stabbed in the side. He then fled from the scene but remained in the general area.

Police located the suspect a short time later and brought him to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. He will be charged upon discharge from the hospital, according to authorities…
