Hudson man pleads guilty to crack cocaine possession

HUDSON, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A Hudson man confessed in Columbia County Court on Monday to possessing and trying to dispose of drugs during a May traffic stop. The Columbia County District Attorney’s Office said Kareem Blocker, 49, pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, which was the top charge of a nine-count indictment.

The DA’s office said Taghkanic authorities stopped Blocker on the Taconic Parkway on May 30 and noticed that he was sweating profusely and moving erratically. Court officials said that after authorities ordered Blocker out of his car, he ran back to the car, shoved himself into the driver’s side window, and started eating the drugs.

According to authorities, some of the evidence was scattered on the road during the stop. Law enforcement seized over five ounces of crack cocaine, over an ounce of methamphetamine, and under an ounce of Alprazolam pills.

The DA’s office added that a Columbia County grand jury indicted Blocker on several charges, including two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, tampering with evidence, and other misdemeanors. Blocker is facing a possible sentence of five years in prison and five years of probation when he’s sentenced on February 11, 2026…
