The check was given to 10-year-old Killian Polarolo, an East Greenbush student, and his mother, Chantel. Killian was diagnosed with quadriplegic cerebral palsy at nine months old and relies on a motorized wheelchair. The family’s current vehicle is not handicap accessible.

The family also raised $12,000 toward buying an accessible van through their own fundraiser. The accessible van will allow Killian to safely enter and exit the vehicle by himself.
