Police: Trio arrested with nearly 3 pounds of meth on Thruway in Upstate NY

Three people have been arrested with nearly three pounds of methamphetamine, according to New York State Police.

Shaheem T. Sanders and Thaj E. Sobers, both 23 years old from Schenectady, were charged on Christmas Eve for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd, a class “A” felony and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, a class “B” felony.

Police said they stopped a vehicle around 3:03 a.m. Wednesday on the I-87 Thruway in Bethlehem for vehicle and traffic violations. Sanders was driving, police said; Sobers and a 17-year-old passenger were also in the vehicle…
