The New Baltimore rest stop on the New York State Thruway had hundreds of travelers coming in and out. Many of those people were traveling back from visiting family from the holidays.

“I knew there was snow coming, but I didn’t think it was coming up here. We thought it was coming to New Jersey, is where it said it was coming mostly and we did try to get ahead of it,” said Daren Snyder, a holiday traveler.
