New York’s minimum wage workers get scheduled pay increase

ALBANY — The minimum wage in the Capital Region is set to increase on Thursday to $16 an hour, up 50 cents an hour from the 2025 rate.

The increase is part of the scheduled increase to the minimum wage in New York state. Downstate, in New York City, Long Island and Westchester County, the minimum hourly wage will increase to $17.
