‘Run For America’ man runs across Capital Region

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – One man is on a mission to bring Americans across the country closer together. He wants to do that by traveling through all 50 U.S. states on foot. He calls it the Run for America.

Noah Coughlan hopes to become the third person ever to travel across all 50 states on foot. He’s done versions of this run before, but this time he’s traveling 5,500 miles across 20 states.

He started in Maine on October 18 and two days ago he made his way into New York. He traveled across the capital region, from Troy to Schenectady. We caught up with Coughlan as he prepared to embark on Wednesday’s journey.

“Going across, seeing the kindness of the American people has really boosted my morale. It keeps me going and I’m really inspired by the people I’m meeting. And they say the same about my run, ‘Knowing you’re coming through with a flag and you know you’re bringing some encouragement.’ But the encouragement goes both ways,” said Coughlin…
