Albany — It appears the Central Warehouse saga will continue through 2026…and potentially into 2027, as the Albany County Executive provided a timeline of the building’s demolition on Tuesday.
The County Executive office tells CBS6 asbestos abatement is “well underway”, which is expected to be completed in early Spring. They’re targeting late 2026/early 2027 for the building to completely come down.
Gramercy Group/LiRo-Hill won the bid to take the building down, serving as construction manager and demolition contractor. The County says there are a series of risk mitigation measures in place to ensure the building doesn’t prematurely collapse, and that 3rd party contractors are monitoring air quality and other conditions…
