SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (WRGB) — A multimillion-dollar affordable housing project is underway on Schenectady’s Hamilton Hill, transforming six vacant buildings into 11 new residential spaces.
“These are long-vacant, really dilapidated, tax-foreclosed properties that the city owned through tax foreclosure, and we were able to work with the city to acquire them,” Better Community Neighborhoods, Inc. (BCNI) CEO Matthew Nelson told CBS6. “We’ll be reinvesting in the rehabilitation and bringing the properties back online to make them new, quality, and safe housing.”
