Man accused of stabbing after dispute in Watervliet

WATERVLIET, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Watervliet Police Department arrested a man on Friday who allegedly stabbed someone several times during an argument. Authorities said Alex Ramon Calo-Diaz, 56, is facing charges of second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Law enforcement responded to a call for a stabbing at a private home near 8th Street and 4th Avenue in Watervliet. Police said the victim was stabbed multiple times, treated on the scene by emergency services, transported to a local hospital, and has since been released.

New York State Police K9 Mike located Calo-Diaz hiding behind a nearby business, and he was arrested. Calo-Diaz remains in Albany County Jail with bail set at $50,000 cash after being arraigned in Green Island Town Court.
