CLIFTON PARK — A restaurateur who recently bemoaned the poor state of business at her eatery in downtown Albany is the new owner with her husband of the popular pub and restaurant Ravenswood in this suburb.
Dora and Michael Philip finalized the deal last week for the Ravenswood business and property, Michael Philip said in an interview Tuesday. The couple took over the Bayou Cafe on North Pearl Street in Albany in 2012 and turned it into The Hollow Bar + Kitchen the following year.
The purchase price for Ravenswood was $2.85 million, he said. That is about $400,000 less than when the restaurant, at 1021 Route 146, was put on the market in May. The seller, Scott Schreifels, bought the 42-year-old business in 2016 with his mother, Stephanie E. Van Auken, who died in 2023.
