Legendary Downtown Saratoga Bar Sold-Getting New Life

A legendary Saratoga bar is getting new owners and a fresh start, with plans to reopen later this spring. For many locals and longtime visitors, it is welcome news tied to memories of busy nights, packed patios, and summers in the city.

That bar is Gaffney’s, which has officially been sold and is now under new ownership. The property on Caroline Street changed hands for 3.5 million dollars, bringing an end to a long and complicated chapter for one of Saratoga Springs most well-known nightlife spots. The new owners are Scott Grodksy and his wife, Kristine, developers from Long Island who already have experience investing in the city.

According to the Albany Business Review, the sale also closes the door on a foreclosure process that began last year. The building had been listed for sale shortly after financial issues surfaced, and the completed deal allows everyone involved to move forward.
