On December 18, police responded to a house on Fourth Street in Hoosick Falls after receiving reports that multiple animals were being mistreated at the residence. Officers arriving to the home just after 9 p.m. determined that several dogs were being kept in a cage inside the bed of a pickup truck parked outside at the property.
According to investigators, the dogs had allegedly been locked in the cage for an extended period of time without access to food or water. Gardner was taken into custody at the scene, and the animals were seized by police before being turned over to the care of the Hoosick Falls Dog Control Officer.
