4 arrested in Ontario Street burglary

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Police have arrested four people in connection to a burglary in the city of Albany. It took place around 8:40 a.m. Tuesday at Mr. Convenient on Ontario Street.

Police said they found two people at the scene who were in possession of stolen items from the store. Both were taken into custody at the scene. Two more people were arrested in the area of Ontario Street and First Street after leaving a nearby residence.

A search warrant was executed at the home, and police said multiple items stolen from the store were recovered. A loaded 9mm handgun was also recovered, according to police.

Officials said all four people entered the store through a window. The following people were arrested and charged:

  • Taimeka McKiever, 38, of Albany, was charged with burglary and grand larceny
  • Ashley Fitzgerald, 38, of Schenectady, was charged with burglary and grand larceny
  • Adam Dittmar, 39, of Leeds, N.Y., was charged with burglary and grand larceny
  • Joseph Nadal, 45, of Albany, has been charged with burglary, grand larceny, and criminal possession of a weapon

Fitzgerald, Dittmar, and Nadal were arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and send to the Albany County Jail. McKiever was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and released under the supervision of Albany County Probation Services…
