Market 32/Price Chopper employee turned love for learning into a career

BETHLEHEM — Over 23 years ago, Middletown resident Addy Jennings started her career at Market 32 and Price Chopper as a part-time floral clerk in Newburgh, a role she thought would be a temporary job as she planned to study forensic psychology in college.

She was 17 years old at the time, spent her days taking care of the store’s plants and often sought tips from web searches to provide customers with instructions on how to care for them.

What started as a job quickly became an opportunity, Jennings said, and her plans pivoted as she was able to score promotion after promotion at the company, ultimately landing her current role as a human resources business partner, which involves overseeing HR functions across 16 stores, including in Albany, Troy, Glenmont and Bethlehem…
