‘Devastatingly inadequate’: Deadly dog attack victim’s daughter slams sentence

ALBANY — Omar Daniels was sentenced to two to four years in state prison Friday in Albany County Court for the dog-mauling death of a Schenectady man who entered a Central Avenue yard where Daniels’ vicious dogs lived.

The 45-year-old pleaded guilty in October to criminally negligent homicide, admitting his dogs killed James Provost on Oct. 9, 2024, a vicious attack that police said they could not stop until Provost was mortally injured.

Daniels will serve his prison term after he completes a nine-year sentence he is currently serving for a 2024 drug conviction…
