Crashes, stalled vehicles cause delays for Albany-area commuters

Several crashes have caused traffic delays during the Monday morning commute.

A crash on the southbound side of the Northway is causing traffic congestion near the Twin Bridges. The slowdown reaches deep into Clifton Park on that side of the highway. The crash was reported at about 7:30 a.m. and traffic continued to be a problem at 9 a.m.

A crash around 7 a.m. at Exit 8 on Interstate 787 southbound in Watervliet closed the furthest left lane of traffic, according to the state Department of Transportation website 511NY; another vehicle was stalled on the right shoulder nearby. State Police said they responded to two two-vehicle crashes in that area; no injuries occurred and both have since been cleared…
