A 62-year-old woman, Brigitte Gaston, was arrested in Menands for allegedly abandoning a dog outside the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society. The incident occurred on Monday (January 11), when Albany County deputies responded to reports of a dog left outside the shelter. The four-pound terrier mix was found in poor condition and later died of hypothermia despite efforts to save it.
According to the Albany County Sheriff’s Office, Gaston left the dog without notifying anyone at the shelter. She was charged with one count of abandonment of animals, a misdemeanor, and released on an appearance ticket. Gaston is expected to appear in Menands Criminal Court at a later date…
