Fire at historic Troy building quickly knocked down

TROY, N.Y. (WNYT) – No one was hurt during a fire at an historic building in Troy on Wednesday.

Firefighters received the call around 10:50 a.m. for a fire on the first floor of an antique shop at 297 River St. Fire Chief Richard Celluci said that there were flames coming out of the first-floor window. Firefighters were able to knock down the fire within 2 minutes of their arrival, and limit the damage to a specific area on that floor.

There was no fire or water damage on the upper floors, which are home to businesses. People working in those businesses, which include an architectural firm, have been allowed to return…
