3 injured, 1 arrested after alleged stabbing in Amsterdam

AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A man has been arrested after he allegedly stabbed multiple people at a home in the town of Amsterdam on Wednesday, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. Chad Pacillo, 29, of Amsterdam faces multiple felony charges.

Authorities responded to the scene, located on Log City Road, just after 12:15 p.m. Pacillo is accused of stabbing three people during the incident.

All of the victims were taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment, the sheriff’s office said. Two have reportedly since been released, while the third remains hospitalized.

Pacillo was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam before being released into authorities’ custody. He has been charged with the following:

  • Second-degree attempted murder (three counts)
  • First-degree burglary
  • Third-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • First-degree attempted assault (two counts)
  • First-degree assault

The 29-year-old is scheduled to be arraigned later Wednesday evening in the Town of Amsterdam Court. The sheriff’s office said there is no threat of imminent danger to the public.
