Schenectady man accused of stabbing son during dispute

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10)– A Schenectady man is facing a felony assault charge after a domestic dispute with his son Thursday night. According to the Schenectady Police Department, 66-year-old Federico Colon is accused of stabbing his son in the shoulder.

Police said they responded to 1901 Avenue B just after 7 p.m. for reports of a dispute with a father and son. When police and responding fire crews arrived on scene, they found the victim with a stab wound to his shoulder.

Colon was arrested and charged with second degree assault, a class D felony.

A preliminary investigation determined, Colon was reportedly swinging a knife and stabbed his son. Colon’s son was transported to a hospital and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries…
