After what turned into a pretty much non-existent snowfall for most of the Capital Region earlier this week, this weekend should bring us some fresh powder.
Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Parts Of The Capital Region
While most of the Capital Region will get some snow tonight (Friday, January 16) into tomorrow (Saturday, Januray 17th), the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for parts of the Capital Region, including the following areas:
- Northern Saratoga County
- Eastern Rensselaer County
- Southern Washington County
- Eastern Colubia County
- Berkshire County
- Bennington County
The advisory is in effect from 12 am Saturday until 1 am Sunday, and the NWS is calling for light to moderate snow for these areas, with 3 to 6 inches of snow expected.
Snowfall predictions for other areas include 1-2 inches for Albany, 2-3 inches for Amsterdam, and 3-4 inches for Saratoga Springs.
