ALTAMONT, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The NEWS10 family is mourning the loss of one of the biggest inspirations behind Pet Connection, Lisa Caporizzo, who passed away on Wednesday. Longtime NEWS10 Meteorologist Steve Caporizzo shared Lisa’s passing on social media on Friday, January 16.

In the post, Caporizzo shared that Lisa died after battling an illness for 10 weeks, and that she was always devoted to helping him in any capacity that she could. From working in animal rescue and rescue work at home to helping others, Caporizzo said she was passionate about helping people and their pets in any way she could.
“She was the strength and inspiration for Pet Connection that everybody is familiar with,” Caporizzo’s post read. “There are so many things that people have never known about her that someday I will share. Truly amazing stories of rescuing and helping pets that needed it the most.”

Calling hours are on Wednesday, January 21, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home in Guilderland, and a celebration of life will be held in the spring. Instead of flowers, Caporizzo said Lisa would have loved donations to the donor’s favorite animal shelter, rescue, or Pet Connection.
“My Lisa was so brave in her short 10-week illness,” Caporizzo wrote. “She never cried, she never complained, she never said why me, and she did this because she wanted to be strong for me, and I was trying to be strong for her. But she was always the stronger of us.”…
