Mohonasen High School coach accused of hitting student is fired

ROTTERDAM — A coach at Mohonasen High School has been fired after allegedly hitting a student athlete during practice.

Mohonasen Central School District superintendent Shannon Shine confirmed an incident occurred, but said he could not provide specific details about it. The student involved was not injured, Shine said. Rotterdam Police Department Lieutenant Patrick Farry said the department is investigating after ”there was an allegation that a coach had struck a student in the face during wrestling practice.”
