Man cleared of conviction in deadly crash sues Rensselaer County, North Greenbush

ALBANY — A formerly incarcerated Stephentown man, once convicted of manslaughter, among other charges, is ready for another day in court nearly three years after his conviction was overturned.

Brendan Hoffman, 34, is suing authorities and prosecutors involved in a 2012 single-vehicle crash probe — findings of which led to him serving more than eight years in prison for the unintentional death of his friend, Christopher Baker, while intoxicated behind the wheel.

Those allegations, a newly filed 51-page complaint filed in the U.S. District Court of Northern New York argues, were unjustly delivered and bogus…
