The New York State Humane Association is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of an alleged animal cruelty suspect in Upstate New York.
The Schenectady Police Department, along with the New York State Humane Association (NYSHA), is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who allegedly beat a dog in the area of Union Street in Schenectady, NY.
Man Allegedly Beats Dog in Schenectady, NY
According to NYSHA, the ongoing animal cruelty investigation began last week after a person was captured on a surveillance video beating a dog on Union Street in the city of Schenectady, NY. Authorities didn’t say what happened to the dog, or its current condition, but did say that the incident, which took place on Wednesday, January 14th, 2026, involved what appears to be a white male and a gray and white Pitbull mix.
