Altamont family claims Million Dollar Raffle top prize

ALTAMONT, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A top-prize-winning ticket from October’s Million Dollar Raffle drawing was claimed in Albany County on Tuesday, the New York Lottery announced. The ticket was among 15 chosen in the commemorative drawing for the Erie Canal Bicentennial Celebration.

The winning ticket was purchased by Daniel Jackson of Altamont. He split the $1 million prize with his wife Lisa and his son James, the family opting to receive a one-time lump sum payment of $217,002 each ($651,006) after all necessary withholdings.

The ticket was sold at the Stewart’s Shops located at 1100 High Bridge Road in Schenectady. The business received a $5,000 bonus from the New York Lottery for selling the top-prize ticket…
