SCHENECTADY, NY (WRGB) — The Schenectady School Board has voted to revoke the tenure of Lincoln Elementary School Principal Laurie Timmis.
This decision, made during a special board meeting, follows weeks of controversy surrounding a photo that circulated online. The image, shared by Ashley Rivera, depicts her son, who has ADHD, lying on a carpet with the school librarian’s foot on his back. The district has since terminated the librarian’s employment.
At a board meeting on Jan. 14, Rivera expressed her dissatisfaction with the school’s handling of the incident, stating, “I guess that’s good news….Now there’s the principals. They’re the ones that failed to let me know what’s going on so.”…
