Caddie, Gazpacho, and Jodi will compete as members of Team Oldies against Team Goldies during the new Senior Dog Halftime Show. The animal shelter said that the exhibition match is a testament to how heart, experience, and some gray fur can make for championship-level players.
“The Puppy Bowl celebrates shelter pets of all ages and highlights what makes each one special,” Mohawk Hudson Humane Society President and CEO Ashley Jeffrey Bouck said. “Every dog—whether senior, special-needs, or somewhere in between—is an MVP. Love isn’t limited by age, breed, or ability.”

Beyond the pups, Mohawk Hudson Humane Society said they also sent seven feline cheerleaders, but their on-screen appearance remains unknown. This year’s puppy bowl features 150 rescued dogs from 72 shelters spread across 36 states, according to the animal shelter.
Those looking to cheer on Caddie, Gazpacho, and Jodi can tune into The Puppy Bowl XXII on February 8 at 2 p.m. The game will be available for viewing on Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, TBS, truTV, Max, and Discovery+.
