ALBANY — Michael Logan, the most recent appointee to the city’s beleaguered Community Police Review Board, has resigned from the body a little over a month after the Times Union discovered he had pleaded guilty to federal charges for his role in a multimillion-dollar fraud scheme, a fact the Common Council was unaware of when it voted to appoint him in December.
Robert Wenner, an attorney for the Common Council, confirmed that Logan had submitted a letter of resignation to the Common Council on Monday. Wenner said the council does not need to take action to accept the resignation and that Logan’s departure is effective immediately. That leaves six members on the nine-person board, which independently investigates allegations of misconduct against members of the Albany Police Department.
