Albany man sentenced for attacking wife with a knife

ALBANY, N.Y. (WNYT) – An Albany man will spend over a decade in prison after being sentenced for attacking his wife with a knife, according to the Albany County District Attorney’s Office.

On February 2, 2025, Albany Police responded to a home on Sherman Street for reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers found a female victim, 31, suffering from stab wounds to her torso, legs, and hands. It was later learned the victim was the wife of Elijah Thomas, 35. She was treated on scene before being taken to Albany Medical Center, where she endured an amputated finger.

Thomas pleaded guilty to attempted assault and was sentenced to 14 years in state prison…
