Snow cleanup in Albany could take another 1-2 weeks, Applyrs says

The city of Albany is working to complete snow removal and cleanup from the Jan. 25-26 storm over the next week to two weeks, but needs the public’s assistance in adhering to alternate-side parking, Mayor Dorcey Applyrs said Friday at a press conference.

The end stage of the city’s cleanup involves clearing streets, sidewalks, crosswalks and removing large piles of snow, she said.

“We continue to get calls about snow removal challenges, and so we continue to be as proactive as we possibly can,” said Applyrs, who took office on Jan. 1. “The next one to two weeks will be critical in the response because we want people to be able to fully access streets, sidewalks and crosswalks.”…
