Justice Served: Sentence Handed Down in Horrific Grafton Family Killings

Update on Local Man Who Killed Three

The Rensselaer County man who admitted to a horrific triple murder that stunned the Capital Region last summer has now learned his fate.

The heartbreaking case first unfolded over the summer when State Police say Fowler’s wife, Whitney, 27, called 911 during a domestic dispute, fearing for her safety and telling dispatchers that her husband may have had a gun. Troopers responded to the home and discovered Whitney with a fatal gunshot wound in the driveway. Inside the residence, they found Fowler’s father, Wilson Fowler, 55, and his step-grandmother, Anita Crandall, 69, also dead from gunshot wounds. All three victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

On Wednesday, a judge sentenced 27-year-old Joshua Fowler to 45 years to life in prison for the June 2025 killings of his wife, father, and step-grandmother at a home on South Road in the Town of Grafton, according to a report from News 10 ABC.
