State Police make 177 DWI arrests during Super Bowl crackdown

ALBANY – The State Police issued 8,263 tickets and made 177 DWI arrests during its STOP-DWI traffic enforcement initiative conducted over Super Bowl weekend.

Fifty-nine of the DWI arrests were in the Mid-Hudson (31, Troop F and 28, Troop K).

The campaign ran from Friday, Feb. 6 through Super Bowl Sunday. During this period, State Police increased patrols statewide and conducted sobriety checkpoints to deter, identify, and arrest impaired drivers.
