Owner Bob Newberry told NEWS10 that the new name went into effect on Monday, as the brewery was granted a new temporary brewing permit under the new name. When Newberry was given the opportunity to change the name, he wanted it to be more of a reflection of their Cohoes roots.
“Cohoes has a deep, proud history shaped by the power of the falls, hard work, resilience, and community,” said Newberry. “Fallside felt like a name that honors that culture and the place we are proud to call home.”

Newberry has already changed the name to Fallside on the business’ social media pages and website. He said it’ll take some time to rebrand the front of the building as they need to get approval from the city. He said that will most likely happen in the spring.
Fallside Brewing opened its taproom about five years ago at 122 Remsen Street in Cohoes. In September 2024, the brewery moved and reopened at its current spot at 151 Saratoga Street, also in Cohoes.
