Cat spay, neuter prices reduced at Mohawk Hudson Humane Society

MENANDS, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The prices for cat spay and neuter services at the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society (MHHS) have been temporarily reduced to $50. The change comes after the animal welfare organization said it received a donation of $45,000 by a longtime supporter.

MHHS’s reduced-cost spay and neuter services are available to income-qualified families through its Loved for Life program. As part of the initiative, cats receive a pre-surgical examination, rabies and distemper vaccinations, microchipping and a spay or neuter surgery.

The typical fee for these services is $190 per animal. However, thanks to the $45,000 donation, MHHS will be able to perform about 320 cat surgeries for just $50 per animal — exceeding the 293 public cat spay and neuter procedures done by the organization in 2025…
