VALLEY FALLS — Officials in a tiny Hoosic Valley village are looking for hope in the form of $4 million.
That is the price tag of a federal grant that the village would need in order to raze the asbestos-ridden remnants of an old three-story textile complex by 2029.
Valley Falls recently applied to tap such funds from the Environmental Protection Agency’s Brownfield Cleanup Program following years of efforts to demolish and redevelop the site of the former James Thompson & Co.
