Snow spreads across the Capital Region, mixing with sleet and freezing rain

Capital Region (WRGB) — Snow and mixed precipitation were expected to spread across the region as the morning progressed, with snow developing for most areas as a warm front lifted north toward the region.

Overrunning moisture ahead of the warm front was forecast to allow snow to expand across the area. In the afternoon, the snow was expected to transition to a mix of precipitation types in the Capital Region, including sleet, freezing rain or rain, depending on temperatures.

According to CBS6 forecast, farther north, snow was forecast to remain the predominant precipitation type, including in the Adirondacks, the Saratoga-Lake George area, and areas east into New England and west into Fulton and Montgomery counties.
