TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The first Friday of Lent means Catholics and Christians around the Capital Region and the globe will be abstaining from eating meat in honor of the sacrifices made by Christ. But, one thing they can eat is seafood, and local restaurants are prepared. The team at Ted’s Fish Fry in Troy said that they look forward to this time every year.
“I would say it’s stayed pretty steady despite the weather. It’s a little bit slower, I would say, than we were expecting, but not by a whole lot to be real. People are still coming in despite the snow to grab fish,” said Assistant Manager at Ted’s Fish Fry, Dan Rooney.
Assistant Manager Rooney said that lent brings back faces they haven’t seen in a while, saying, “There’s a lot of faces that we don’t see for the rest of the year, and they come in specifically during Lent,”…
