Man pleads guilty to endangerment in death of Stillwater woman

BALLSTON SPA – A home health aide accused of killing a 67-year-old Stillwater woman by neglecting her care pleaded guilty on Monday in Saratoga County Court to endangering the welfare of a vulnerable elderly person or incompetent or physically disabled person.

Kyle J. Bliss, 37, could spend three to six years in state prison for the death of Jean Bull, who had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Bliss, who was paid to care for her, left Bull alone, causing bed sores so deep that she contracted sepsis, her son said. She died in November 2024.

“He feels a lot of remorse for the whole family,” Bliss’s attorney Scott Iseman told the Times Union. “He was not trying to cause her any type of harm. He had a mental health crisis and left. Unfortunately, he wasn’t in a place to make good decisions because of that issue.”…
