Eddie Bauer bankruptcy claims stores in Colonie, Lake George

Workers at two Capital Region Eddie Bauer outlets will be laid off in the coming weeks after the venerable outdoor retailer filed for bankruptcy earlier this month.

An employee at the Northway Shopping Center outlet in Colonie said that location, which she said employs around 11 people, would close “sometime in April.” A worker at the Eddie Bauer location in Lake George said company higher-ups told them that store would be closing “no later than April 30.” They declined to say how many people work at that location.

The company that owns the license to operate North American Eddie Bauer locations will be shuttering around 180 stores across the U.S. and Canada as part of the restructuring plan, the Associated Press reported.
