Neighbors on Providence Street got a scary surprise Thursday morning when a sinkhole suddenly opened up in the road.
The hole formed near 630 Providence Street, in a small neighborhood just a few blocks from Albany Medical Center. Officials say a car was driving down the street when the pavement gave way underneath it, causing the car to drop into the hole. No one was hurt.
John Carpenter with Albany Water Supply says crews got to the scene quickly. They have put up cones around the sinkhole and towed cars away from the area to keep everyone safe. The car that fell in has already been pulled out…
