Firefighters with SFD’s Platoon 3 arriving to the scene were met by heavy flames coming from the back of the unoccupied building’s first floor. After addressing the blaze’s ascension to the home’s attic, crews managed to bring the fire under control just after 5 a.m.
According to SFD Chief George Burns, the efforts of responding firefighters prevented the building from being deemed a complete loss. The exterior of a neighboring property was also minorly damaged in the incident.
